The George Boone Football League (GBFL) is a head-to-head, scoring-only, fantasy football league. The GBFL
is based in St. Louis, MO, and its participants are employees or former employees of CDM Fantasy Sports.
2) ROSTERS:
Players will be acquired though a auction-style format. Auction date is scheduled for Tuesday September 2nd at either 6 or 7 PM. Each team will have $100 to bid with to fill out their roster. The minimum bid will be $1 and the minimum raise will be in $1 increments.
Roster will consist of 14 players of the following mix:
1 - Quarterback
2 - Running Backs
2 - Wide Receivers
1 - Tight End
1 - Kicker
1 - Defense/Special Team
6 - Extra Players any position(s) you choose
Teams may core up to 3 players each year. The only exception is during league expansion, in which case the number of cores is lowered to 2 players per team. Cored players will receive an automatic 10% raise (rounded up to the next dollar).
3) STANDINGS:
There will be three (3) four team divisions. Teams will be drawn at random and placed in a league. The GBFL season will be the first 14 weeks of the NFL season. Weeks 15 & 16 will be used for our playoffs. In the playoffs the three division winners and a wild card team (best record 2nd place team) will face off for the GBFL League Championship. Best record division winner will play the wild card team. Winners will meet in the GBFL Championship game, losers in the 3rd Place consolation game.
In addition, the two teams with the worst regular season record will play each other in the GBFL Toilet Bowl for bragging rights as the worst GBFL team.
The following Tie Breaker system will be used to determine playoff teams:
For Division Winner
1st-Head to Head Record
2nd-Head to Head Points
3rd-Division Record
4th-Division Points
5th-Total Points
6th-Coin Flip
For Wild Card Team (2 Teams)
1st-Head to Head Record
2nd-Head to Head Points
3rd-Total Points
4th-Coin Flip
For Wild Card Team (3 or More Teams)

4th-Coin Flip
4) SCORING:

6 pts Rushing TD's
6 pts Receiving TD's
4 pts Passing TD's
6 pts Other TD's
6 pts Defense/Special Teams TD's
2 pts Safeties
3 pts FG's
1 pt Kicked Extra Pts.
2 pts Rushed or Received Extra Pts.
5 pts 0-10 pts allowed by Def/Special Team
5) WEEKLY LINEUPS:
A schedule will be provided prior to the start of the season. Teams will provide a starting lineup to Rick VerMehren one half hour before the first game of the week. Should no lineup be submitted by one half hour before the first game of the week, the previous weeks lineup will be used regardless of injury situation or byes. The starting lineup will consist of:
1 - Kicker
1 - Quarterback
2 - Running Backs
1 - Tight End
2 - Wide Receivers
1 - Defense/Special Team
In the event of a tie, all points scored by bench players will be added up. Whichever team has the most points from their bench will get 1 extra point added to their final score. This bonus point will count in the standings towards playoff tie-breakers, as well. Should this not break the tie, the game will be recorded as a tie.
6) FREE AGENTS/TRADES:
During the season (Weeks 1-14) a team or teams may wish to pick up a FREE AGENT (a player not on any other teams roster). This is allowed with the following rules:
A) A team is limited to 5 free agents during the season
B) For each free agent claimed a player must be dropped
C) Free agents claimed will be assigned a salary to be determined by the claiming team.
The claiming team must choose one of the following values for the claimed player
($5, $8, $10, $12, $15), and each value may be used in any order but may only be used
one time.
D) Free agents claimed must be claimed by Sunday, 11:30 AM CT in order to be eligible to
play for the current week's games. Free Agent claims are made on a first-come,
first-served basis, regardless of team records. Players dropped may not be claimed
by another team(s) until the week following being dropped. When a player dropped by
another team is claimed, his salary shall be his original salary or whatever the
claiming team chooses (based upon Waiver Rule C), whichever is greater. Two additional
free agent claims may be made by the 4 playoff teams during Weeks 15 & 16. They will
have to cut a player for each waiver claim made, just like the regular waiver rules
state, but the extra claims cannot be cored.
Trades are allowed between teams. However, if three or more teams file a protest a vote will be taken to approve trade. Simple majority required to veto trade. Protests must be filed within two days of trade announcement.
The trade deadline is Week 10. All trades must be submitted by the weekly lineup deadline that week. Once Week 10 has been concluded, there will be no further trading among any teams until the conclusion of the GBFL Championship (Week 17).
During the course of the season a team's total salary may not exceed $115 or be less than $85 as a result of a trade. There is no limit to the salary cap when teams are making free agent claims. However, if they make a free agent claim and their salary goes over $115, or under $85, and then make a subsequent trade, they must still abide by the $115/$85 rule.
Players dropped on Free Agent claims may be acquired by other teams and placed in the claiming team's starting lineup for the current week.
7) COST/PRIZES:
Cost to enter will be a flat $75.00 fee with NO cost for transactions. In addition each team will contribute $2.00 to cover the cost of the Draft Board. Prize pool will be paid out as follows:
1st Place = $450
2nd Place = $225
3rd Place = $135
4th Place = $90
All league dues must be paid when cores are turned in. Should you have any questions or want to make suggestions or add something to the rules, see Rick VerMehren.
